Don't Whine

“When they start crying, I know their spirit is broken.”

-Willy Hoppe

When you whine and complain, you are sending a message to your opponent. He senses your ship is going down and he will do everything he can to help it sink faster! Moaning and groaning boosts his morale and motivates him to take advantage of you.

This is when you need to be strong. It takes discipline and patience to stay emotionally detached from undesirable results. Everyone misses shots and bad rolls will eventually even out. Accept all such challenges as part of the game.

Whatever the situation is, always stay positive. Hold your head high and carry yourself with confidence. Even if you are upset, make your best effort to stay calm. In fact, staying calm is the best chance you have to turn it around.

Positive body language tells your opponent that you are strong and unaffected by pressue. You are saying, "I can win from anywhere, even if you get every roll and win the first six games!"

Develop your mental game with a mature attitude and you will win many matches that only appear hopeless. Stay positive. Earn the reputation for being tough to beat.
